Imagination and creative license produce a seductive read...

The last author interview had a comment on knowledge vs creativity and imagination.

Readers usually assume the author is writing from experience which is why the read is so good. As Cara Bristol pointed out, the wonderful authors who write thrillers for us have NOT killed anyone yet they keep us on the edge of our seats with all the bloody details and readers of that genre love it - but - you KNOW the author didn't have to kill someone to be able to write so well about that topic. They're good authors and that's the answer, plain and simple...they did their research into the topic they wanted to write about.

Knowing what details and emotions will pull their readers into the story and not put the book down is how they get to be so well known. The same is true for romance authors. We study the emotions, get the right pull down on paper so the reader HAS to turn the pages to find out if the love story will continue or someone's heart gets broken. The turmoil we put our characters through is the same roller coaster of emotions most of our readers have experienced, so they continue to read to see how the character came through such tragic circumstances to find love again after their heart was so badly broken.

We also like to add experiences that many readers may not be able to experience for one reason or another and yes, those may happen between two people who are in love....or NOT. The characters just want to experience the situation or activity and may not be emotionally involved with the other character. Am I making sense here?

As authors, we're able to reach out from our pages and deliciously pull you in to enjoy our story and hope you can share in the character's experience if only in your mind. Some truly want to know what it might feel like to be blindfolded during an erotic session with their lover, but they're afraid to ask, fearing their lover might think they've gone off the deep end. By reading our stories, the reader can experience what they don't in real time. This is why we write...to allow THAT reader to be a silent character in our books, to know how warm it feels to be held by a talented lover who knows exactly what we need...to be touched in just the right spot at just the right time.

This brings me to another topic I'm big on....asking your partner for what you want. I hear too often what others say...'I can't ask him/her to do that, they'll think I'm kinky!'  Is that it? If you're so close to that partner, why haven't you discussed what each of you would like to experience? At least try it once, would that be so bad? Maybe your partner is waiting for YOU to broach the subject so they won't have to. Try it...all they can say is no but they'll still love you. Maybe you just need to leave a book laying around for them to pick up and read.

Okay, I've gone off on a tangent once again, sorry...hope this has helped you to understand that erotic authors don't always write about their own experiences. What we do write about is bringing that experience into your mind so you can also enjoy it with our characters if you can't enjoy it in real time! Happy reading my friends!

Men - we know you're lurking so leave us a comment...

We all realize this isn't proper office attire but...since this is MY office space and only My Boss has the key, who'll know what I wear to the office!

Now...men...we are dying to know your thoughts on a few things. I don't want to ruffle feathers here but we want to see inside your mind and how it works. Okay, we know how it works because we know you are visual beings and we love that about you but we want to know your thoughts on what YOUR woman should receive...if at all?

I'm sure there are more than a few of you out there who think women are here to serve and that's it...no receiving, no pleasure, no fun. If you're one of those guys, I'm glad you're not my man because that is the furthest thing from his mind. For those who DO think that way, we want to know WHY you think a woman doesn't deserve to feel the swell of an orgasm, or the loving touch of her partner or....is it that you just don't consider her emotions, feelings and joy as important as your own?

You love for us to touch you, taste you, want you.....so why do you feel you don't need to convey that to your partner? You want her around for sex and that's it? Do you ever catch her watching you? Do you ever wonder that she might be fantasizing about the things she'd LOVE for YOU to be doing to HER? Because we DO think that but some are not as strong as others to come out and speak what we want you to do to us. We assume you already know because of what you like us to do to you. Am I getting through to any of you?

We need you, want you, love you, but....your partner also needs to know you feel the same rather than just using them to pleasure yourself. Here's a challenge guys...can you pleasure your partner and watch the joy they experience without also needing to be pleasured...once in a while? Do they know that? Try that experiment and come back here to let us know how it turned out. How did it make you feel to know you allowed them to experience such a high peak of pleasure? Get a LITTLE kinky! It's okay!!

We're lurking out there now because we want to know your thoughts!!

Readers, chime in, we'd love to hear from you!

YOU are who we write for and we want to get it correct. I want to write so that my characters get stuck in your head and you're thinking of them long after you put the book down. I want you to think of them on more adventures, wonder what if, wonder how they might handle certain situations. I want you to want inside my character's head.

I hope I create characters that also make you want to become a better person, to become stronger in your world, to stand up for yourselves and not be pushed around. I want you to take away something from my books when you're done. I also want you to enjoy what my characters enjoy and become strong enough to discuss what you want from your partner and not be afraid to try new things. Don't be one of those women who only satisfy your partner but let your partner know if you weren't also satisfied in the process. It's a two way street, both need to experience what the joy of love is and can be.

Ok....I've gotten carried away today. I hope you dig deep inside yourself and ask if you are being satisfied. If not, become stronger and ask for what you want. Your partner will thank you for it.

Receiving and never giving isn't always satisfying to someone. We all want to give so let the other person do that for you! Thank you for stopping in. I hope you hop to my other links and learn more about me. Speak up...I want to hear from you!

Author Interview - Liz Borino - Erotic Author

Welcome to my warm cozy fireplace! Please make yourself at home; grab a warm drink, Bailey’s is there for those who want an added kick to their coffee! Now come join us, have a seat on the comfy sofas and join me as I welcome erotic author Liz Borino. Her newest release, Expectations, is about two brothers who struggle to win their father’s approval so they can acquire their trust funds.  He expects them to become businessmen, marry and have a family. Is this what they want? Liz is here to let us into her world for a bit. Thanks for joining us!

Tonya:  Some of us have things we do to get into the writing frame of mind like music, or drinks. Do you have anything special you do to get into the writing mood?

Liz:  I drink Snapple, which is to say, I wake up. Without that shot of caffeine brain activity just doesn’t fire. As far as music, once again it can be assumed that if I’m awake, music is playing.

Tonya:  Do you like pushing the envelope to the brink when writing?

Liz:  Oh yes, I do. I don’t even know if ‘like’ is the right word to use here, I just naturally do. Writing is where my imagination comes out and you get a look inside my head. Oh… yes, that’s a bit scary isn’t it?

Tonya:  I read Chapter One and liked how you brought out a bit of each character's personality. Did you bring one of your characters with you today?

Liz:  Well, they’re always in my head, but tonight, Matt is being the loudest. He wants to be a good guy, father, and partner, but he has a darker past and is struggling to stay on the right path.

Tonya:  Tell us about a day in your life as a writer.

Liz:  Since getting my publishing contract, I’ve become much more involved in social media. While this is an important part of marketing existing books, it makes it difficult to write new ones. Therefore, I’m still looking for a balance between the two.

Tonya:  Are you a daytime writer, night time writer, and do you have to be alone to write?

Liz:  Daytime writer. I can’t wait to be alone to write or else I’d never get anything done.

Tonya:  Do you intentionally give your characters flaws so the reader might relate to them better?

Liz:  My characters are real people to me. No, really, by the time they make it to the page they’ve been inside my head so long I know everything about them. I knew, for example, Aiden had long hair because he looked too much like his father with short. This was never mentioned in either book, but it was important for me to know. I keep their back stories in head. Because they are so real to me, of course they have flaws.

Tonya:  Do you write about things that may teach your reader new ‘ideas’ they might use at home?

Liz:  Oh this is a tough one. Alright, I wrote Chris and Aiden’s relationship to be portrayed differently than many romance books portray m/m. I wanted people to see the beauty of their love and suspend and maybe question stereotypes.

Tonya:  Where can our readers find you and your books?

Liz:  Barnes and Noble      Amazon     Omnilit     All Romance Books

Tonya:  Is there anything else you want to tell our readers?

Liz:  I can be found on my Blog   Facebook  and Twitter     I’d love to hear from all of you! Thank you so much for reading and I hope you check out Expectations!

Tonya:  Thank you all so much for being here. Feel free to leave comments or questions for Liz and be sure to visit her online. She will be here through Thursday this week. Liz, it's been a pleasure! Good luck with the book!

Another excerpt from the Prequel to The Boss's Pet: The Contract

Thank you all for your continued interest in the prequel to my first book. I just wanted you to get to know the characters a little better and how they both got to where they were in Office Training. I love to read short enticing excerpts so I'm guessing you do to with the number of hits I'm getting in a short period of time. Again, thank you!

Let's meet the characters again, naughty Nick and sexy Sondra:

Nick is the oh so hot owner of his investment firm and money is no longer an issue with him. He can travel to wherever he has a mind to! Now let's consider his mind, we'll get to his body later. Nick has found a niche in the bondage world that satisfies him sexually, he just needs to find that perfect mate who enjoys some of the same extremes as he does. Exploring the female anatomy will always be his hobby but he likes to find the right buttons to push that will send his partner over the edge or into the stars.

Sondra knows she works too much and that's what cost her the last love of her life. Moving beyond that point hasn't been easy for her so she's immersed herself in her work and getting the best returns for her investment clients. Settling into her new office at Nick's company has been more than a pleasure for her. She loves her office location and Nick is around all the time. He watches her quite often when he thinks she isn't looking but Sondra doesn't miss much; she isn't going to be his typical employee, but I can't spill all the secrets here! Sondra likes adventure and is open to trying new things but is she ready for Nick?? Stay tuned!

Short Excerpt:

“Can I get you another whiskey on the rocks, Nick?” Opening the cupboard, she pulled down a glass for her and peeked around the cabinet door at him.

He loved the way she raised her brow when she asked him a question. Damn! “Sure, that sounds great, Sondra. Thanks. You’ve got a nice place here.” Nick slipped off his jacket, draped it over the back of a chair and began rolling his sleeves up to his forearm as he walked into the kitchen with her. Standing behind her, he placed his hands on the counter, one on each side of her and placed his nose in her hair. “You smell fantastic, Ms. Prentice...”  He moved her hair away from her neck and his tongue barely touched her skin. “Mmmmm....and you taste even better.”

To his surprise, she tipped her head, offering more of her neck and he needed no further invitation. His lips connected with her flesh, his tongue tasted her, wanting more and to his surprise, she turned toward him. Her arms went around his waist, her hands touched his back and he leaned back slightly to look at her. Green eyes gazed at him filled with a need only he could satisfy. His hands tenderly cupped her face and pulled her closer as his mouth took hers; the hunger of her kiss surprised him. Her nails lightly raked up his back as their tongues tangled and his fingers wove through her hair, pulling her deeper into their kiss.

A moan escaped her throat as her tongue swirled over his.

Her hands moved down his back until they cupped his ass, pulling his hips against her own. She gently rocked against him.

His fingers gripped her hair and pulled her closer then one of his hands moved down her back while the other craddled her head. One more sweep of his tongue through her mouth and he pulled back, taking in a deep breath. Their foreheads touched but he didn’t release her.

He lightly touched her lips with his once more. “Wow...I didn’t think I needed you that badly.”

Her foot caressed the top of his. “I was afraid you wouldn’t want to come in for a drink tonight.”

He hugged her close has her lips touched his neck. “Keep that up and we won’t be having our drink...” He gently grabbed a handful of her hair and tipped her head back so he could look into those green eyes. “....or is that your intention?”

Sondra’s eyes narrowed a bit with that sexy look she gave him at the office. “I usually follow through with my intentions but not just yet. Let’s finish our drinks and talk about this ‘business trip’ first.”

Trust me, this gets a lot hotter and much more happens that will pull these two into a wonderful relationship! Stay tuned.....*wink*
