Meet Eden Baylee - Erotic Romance Author

Eden Baylee
Erotic Romance

Thank you for stopping in to meet Eden, this week's guest author. Eden Baylee writes literary erotica and erotic romance. Her stories are both sensual and sexual, incorporating some of her favorite things such as travel, culture, and a deep curiosity for what turns people on. Spring into Summer is her second collection of erotic novellas. She's giving away a copy of each books so be sure to get into the contest at the bottom!

Tonya:  Eden, thank you for hanging out all week with us! Readers love to know more about their authors. Tell us a bit about yourself.

Eden:  Hi Tonya, and thanks so much for having me here on your great site.
I’m a Canadian author who writes literary erotica and erotic romance. I also maintain an active blog and social media presence.

Tonya:  Her sites are HOT so be sure to click over and check her out! Do you have a day job?

Eden:  Not any more (heh). I left my career as a banker after twenty years to pursue writing full-time. That was January 2010. I feel very fortunate to be able to finally do what I love.

Tonya:  Some of us have things we do to get into the writing frame of mind like music, or drinks. Do you have anything special you do to get into the writing mood?

Eden:  Not really, only because I consider writing as my job, so I just do it. I tackle it as a pleasurable obligation. If I feel mentally tired, I’ll walk away from my keyboard, do some housework, or get some fresh air, but then I get back to writing immediately.

Tonya:  Where do you keep story ideas? Where do they come from?

Eden:  Ideas can come from anywhere. Living life is the best inspiration, really. That means keeping an open mind to explore new things, meet new people, and I’m pretty fearless, so ideas have a way of finding me.

Tonya:  If you’re self-published, can you tell us a bit about that and how it’s going for you?

Eden:  I am self-published. Having complete control of my books from beginning to end works for me because I’m so anal. I love that I’m more or less fully responsible for the final outcome of my book – from the writing to the design to the marketing. If I fail, it’s all on me. If I succeed, I’m taking full credit.

Tonya:  Self-pubbing is the best way to go for those of us who like to control our own destinies! Are you a daytime writer, nighttime writer, and do you have to be alone to write?

Eden:  I write throughout the day and night. I don’t seem to sleep very much, so I’m up early and stay up late. I don’t need to be alone to write, but I usually am.

Tonya:  We all love to help out other newbie authors. What advice would you give to them?

Eden:  I suppose it depends on where the author is in his/her process. There is a lot to learn, so I’ll just list three main points.
First and foremost—write the book. Without this, you have nothing to offer readers, unless you are just writing for your own pleasure.
Secondly, learn about social media and develop meaningful relationships with other authors, bloggers, and readers. Be sincere on all social media networks. It’s not only about selling books.
Lastly, be thankful and gracious. I’ve connected with fantastic people from all walks of life since I started writing. It’s always good to give something back if you can.

Tonya:  Great adice! Readers, I do have a few links on my site for newbies and will ad more for you later. Do you write better when you first have an idea of what your characters look like or do you write, then add character looks?

Eden:  I always start with an intriguing idea before anything else. I’m a pantser, so I don’t plot out storylines – I just write. As for how characters look, that gets added much later and not with any great detail to their physical appearance either. I prefer to engage the reader’s imagination by not filling in all the blanks.

Tonya:  What attracts you most about men?

Eden:  Intelligence, and I don’t mean the ‘book-smart’ kind. I like original thinkers. A man who can engage my brain engages me—period.

Tonya:  We’re dying to hear about your latest book. What can you tell us without spoiling the storyline?

Eden:  Ha! Spring into Summer is an anthology of four unique stories. The book is the companion piece to my first anthology called Fall into Winter. Both contain stories that take place during specific seasons. The novellas are great character-driven plots of varying heat. I’ve provided a blurb with more details of each story.

Blurb for Spring Into Summer:

In Spring into Summer, a collection of emotionally-charged erotic novellas, four women explore their sexual limits, marked by love, lust, and loss.

Life for Claire Pelletier is changed forever when she meets a professor who teaches her a most important lesson in "A Season for Everything."

Evelyn Sutton goes in search of a man in "Unlocking the Mystery" and discovers the key to her own heart.

With an open mind, Ava Connors attends a party but wonders if reality can ever live up to her hottest fantasies in "Summer Solstice."
In "The Lottery," Sierra Zhao sacrifices herself to numerous men to help a friend, fully aware of the consequences.
With locations in London, Dublin, Cape Cod, and Bangkok, these four women will seek pleasure to alter their lives and push their sexual boundaries.

Tonya:  Where can our readers find you and your books?

Eden:  Connect to my website to get all the links but listed below are my main links. Spring into Summer is exclusive with Amazon for the time being. Fall into Winter is available everywhere.

Tonya:  Our readers like to learn little things about us. What’s your favorite meal - Italian, Mexican, Thai, etc?

Eden:  East Indian is my favorite closely followed by Thai.

Tonya:  Thai has to be my all-time favorite, too! Do you like toppings on your ice cream?

Eden: Absolutely not. I’m very picky about ice cream. I don’t like anything crunchy in it. Small pieces of fruit are fine, but I don’t like chocolate chips, candy, or anything I have to chew.

Tonya:  What is your favorite nighttime snack?

Eden:  Red wine, though that’s probably not a snack, is it? Thanks so much Tonya for having me here. Your wonderful support for authors is truly fabulous. If readers leave a comment telling me their favorite season for romance, they can win a copy of one of my books.
