It's a RELEASE Party!!
Natasha Moore
Erotic Romance
Wow! I'm so glad you stopped by! *handing you a chilled glass of champagne* Watch out for all the balloons, some may have fallen already but have fun walking around all the streamers dangling from the balloons above. This week we're celebrating with the sexy Natasha Moore because Tuesday is release day for Birthday Girl! Woohoo! Come with me and we'll go find her. Let me tell you a bit about her as we make our way through the crowd already here! *nodding to guests we pass* Hi, how are you!
Natasha
Moore fell in love with the written word as soon as she could read. As she grew up, she discovered romance and
now enjoys the chance to add some extra sizzle to her stories. She writes sexy
contemporary and erotic romance for Samhain, Ellora’s Cave and Red Sage. She
lives in New York
State with her real life
hero who is happy to tell everyone that he’s her inspiration. They travel in their RV whenever possible.
The great thing about writing is she can take it anywhere.
Tonya: Natasha, there you are! What a crowd! Let's grab a table over here and chat with a few readers. They love to know more about their
authors so tell us a bit about yourself.
Natasha: Thank you all for stopping in to be a part of my release party. Isn't this grand! I think I started to write soon after I
learned to read. I passed around chapters of my first novel (my own kind of
fanfic, long before that term was ever coined) written on notebook paper to my
classmates in sixth grade. Life often got in the way of my writing, but I’m so
glad that I’m finally able to share my stories with readers who love sexy and
emotional romances.
Tonya: Do you have a day job?
Natasha: Yes, I work a full time office day job. Being
at a computer all day sometimes makes it hard to sit down at night to write,
but as long as my eyes aren’t too tired, I’ll put in at least a couple hours at
night on my current project.
Tonya: *refilling all the champagne glasses* Some of us have things we do to get into the
writing frame of mind like music, or drinks. Do you have anything special you
do to get into the writing mood?
Natasha: Putting on my headphones is like a cue to my
muse to get to work. I listen to familiar music downloaded to my iPod, so it’s
background noise and not a distraction. And I’m not above having a glass of wine to
loosen up before writing a hot love scene.
Tonya: That does help a little, doesn't it? Do you have a card file where you keep story
ideas? Where do they come from?
Natasha: I have a file on my computer titled “Ideas”-
bits and pieces of characters or titles or plot ideas that haven’t been written
yet. Where do the ideas come from? Anywhere. Everywhere. Sorry, can’t nail it
down anymore than that. It’s kind of magical. I worry that sometime the ideas
will just dry up, but so far that’s never been a problem.
Tonya: Are you a daytime writer, night time writer,
and do you have to be alone to write?
Natasha: In a perfect world, I’d be a daytime writer
in a quiet house all by myself. In my world, I write evenings and weekends with
the TV playing in the other room and husband and kids coming and going. Another
reason for those headphones. LOL
Tonya: that's understandable! Do you write better when you first have an
idea of what your characters look like or do you write, then add character
looks?
Natasha: I don’t usually know what my characters look
like until I start writing. I discover most things about my characters after I
start writing.
Tonya: We’re dying to hear about your latest book.
What can you tell us without spoiling the storyline?
Natasha: Birthday Girl is the 3rd in the
Paolo’s Playhouse series from Samhain. I love this story! Who wouldn’t love a
husband who gives his wife what she thinks she wants for her birthday? Here’s
the blurb for Birthday Girl:
For Shannon, turning thirty means getting serious.
Responsible. Old. She can’t help
dreading the day she has to leave her spontaneous, crazy, young self-image behind. Then there are all those unfulfilled items
on her to-do list, like that threesome she and her husband, Ty, used to
fantasize about. It fell by the wayside, right along with their neglected bag
of sex toys.
Her birthday
dinner starts out like any other…then her present arrives at the table. Marc,
an old college friend, whose edgy persona tickles her in all the right places.
And that’s not all. Ty’s reserved a room at Paolo’s Playhouse—for all three of
them.
By the time
the playroom door closes behind them, Ty and Marc’s intimate touches and wicked
whispers have roused her hormones to a fever pitch. But when kiss comes to
nipple clamps, Shannon’s not sure she has the
courage to step off the edge of fantasy and fall headlong into reality…
Tonya: Wow! I want that for MY birthday! Whew! Okay, jotting this one down along with all the other books in the series. I can't wait to read these. Where can our readers find you and your
books?
Natasha: My website is www.natashamoore.com I play around on
Facebook and Twitter too. My books are available at the publisher’s sites, or
at any online bookstore, like Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Fictionwise, etc.
Tonya: Let's do a few questions just for fun. What is your favorite night time snack?
Natasha: Ice cream! It’s why I don’t keep any in the
house. The one thing I can’t resist! I live in a small lakeside village and
there are three ice cream shops within walking distance. I do indulge from time
to time, but only if I walk. I like to walk J
Tonya: Do you like toppings on your ice cream?
Natasha: Of course. Hot fudge and whipped cream,
please.
Tonya: What’s your favorite meal - Italian, Mexican,
Thai, etc?
Natasha: I could eat pizza any day of the week, just
vary the toppings from day to day and I’d be happy.
Tonya: Is there anything else you want to tell our
readers?
Natasha: I love writing whatever story ideas come to
me. So far I have 19 novels, novellas and short stories contracted or released.
I write mostly contemporaries, but love the occasional fantasy, futuristic or
paranormal. I hope readers will be willing to follow me wherever I go. I can
always promise a hot, emotional read, not matter what the setting is. I'd also love to give away a gift card to one lucky commenter but please - leave your email addy so we can contact the winner!
CONTEST – a $10 Samhain gift certificate to
one lucky commenter who also leaves their email in the comment.
Birthday Girl Excerpt:
Why did seeing Marc again make her hot and tense? Was
that what happened when you turned thirty? You started to lust after men other
than the one you loved? Of course, it could have a lot to do with the fact that
she’d had a massive crush on Marc before he introduced her to Tyler. Ty didn’t have a clue. God, she hoped
Marc didn’t either.
There was something in the air, a tension that came
with Marc appearing out of nowhere. A tension that seemed to add to the
edginess she’d already been feeling. Maybe it was her intense awareness of the
additional man standing there. Just how aware she was made her a little
uncomfortable. Tyler
was still so close to her that she could feel the familiar heat from his body.
But Marc exuded a raw sexuality that made her shiver. She couldn’t believe she
was reacting like this to a man who wasn’t her husband, no matter their history.
She loved her husband. He was sexy and fun and their sex life was usually
active and inventive.
But for the first time since she’d met her husband,
she wished for another man’s hands on her body.
No, she didn’t. Not really. It was just a fantasy,
like dreaming about kissing Brad Pitt. Something that was fun to think about,
but would never happen in real life.
That’s why it was called fantasy.
She hoped Marc said good-bye and left before her
breathing got any shallower. Before she squirmed in her seat and Tyler knew what she was
thinking.
“Shannon, I invited
Marc to join us tonight,” Tyler
said softly. He sat back down beside her and took her hand. His intense gaze
held her in place. “He’s part of your birthday surprise.”
“Birthday surprise?” What had Tyler said a few minutes ago? Something about
trying out a fantasy they’d never done before. Her eyes grew wide and she
looked from Tyler
to Marc. Shannon smothered the little gasp
that threatened to escape her lips.
He stroked her hair and brought his lips close to her
ear. “I thought you might like to try out that ménage you always wanted.”
Tonight? With Marc?
“I don’t know.” Maybe some fantasies were meant to
stay that way. Some fantasies were never meant to be acted out.
Tyler
cupped her face in his large hands and rested his forehead on hers. “Think
about it,” he whispered. “You’ve talked about it for years. Two men giving you
their full attention. Two men giving you pleasure.”
She looked up at Marc, still standing at the edge of
the table, looking uncharacteristically awkward. And still majorly hot. What
was her problem? Hadn’t she been going on all night about her lack of an edgy
and spontaneous sex life? Shannon glanced at Tyler and he just lifted
a brow as if to say it was up to her. She smiled up at Marc and hoped he didn’t
see her lips tremble. “Sit down and let’s talk.”
She thought he would sit down beside Tyler, there was plenty of room on that side
of the booth. Instead, Marc slid in beside her, across from Tyler. She was hemmed in now, surrounded.
Trapped.
Marc leaned over and kissed her lightly on the cheek.
“Happy Birthday.”
