Rachel Boleyn
Erotic Romance

and the winner is:
Krystal
Congratulations!!

Don't let the hot tub scare you! Come on in, we're chatting with erotic romance author Rachel Boleyn! We're glad you stopped to check her out. Grab a drink at the bar first, get a kiss from our sexy bartender and come hop in with us. Being shy isn't allowed - suit or no suit, it's totally up to you. Let's get the chatter started! Rachel, thank you for hanging around all week to chat with our readers.

Tonya:  Tell us a bit about yourself. Do you have a day job?

Rachel:  I'm a California girl, born and raised. I do have a day job, and while most of the time it's pretty boring and routine, I get to travel a lot which breaks up the monotony of the everyday grind.

Tonya:  Some of us have things we do to get into the writing frame of mind like music, or drinks. Do you have anything special you do to get into the writing mood?

Rachel:  Music is a very sexual thing for me, so good tunes always get me in the mood to write.

Tonya:  The same is true for me. Music can so set the tone of where my scene will go! Are you ever at a loss for ideas? What do you do to get past those time? I don’t have them often but being out in my yard and gardens helps me get creative.

Rachel:  When I get really tired, I tend to have a hard time focusing, so usually I take a little nap or relax in the hot tub so I can unwind and focus again. Hot tub soaks always help stoke my creative fires. Exercise is also a huge creativity booster, and I find one of the times I feel most inspired is while I'm at the gym. Unfortunately it's hard to write while you're on the treadmill, at least for me anyway, so sometimes I record the really good ideas on my BlackBerry and hope it still holds the same amount of inspiration by the time I get home and settled in.

Tonya:  That would be a good incentive for some of us to do more exercise! Thanks! Do you have a card file where you keep story ideas? Where do they come from?

Rachel:  I get ideas from the strangest places. Sometimes I'll get stuck in traffic next to someone that kicks me into fantasy mode. I travel a lot for my job, so I see a lot of interesting people on a daily basis, some of them are very fantasy-worthy. I also work very closely with my friend Kelly Haven. The two of us bounce naughty ideas off of each other all the time, which is always fun.

Tonya:  Tell us about a day in your life as a writer.

Rachel:  Because I travel so much, I often don't get to write much during the day. I spend so much time writing in hotel rooms that it's hard to get in the mood to write when I am actually back at home. My desk or writing area also has to be organized, or I can't concentrate.

Tonya:  Are you a daytime writer, night time writer, and do you have to be alone to write?

Rachel:  I write mostly at night, and always alone. It's a very private and intimate act, so when other people are around I just can't get in the mood unless Kelly and I are collaborating on a story together.

Tonya:  Do you write better when you first have an idea of what your characters look like or do you write, then add character looks?

Rachel:  I always see my characters in my mind before I start writing. It makes it easier to become really intimate with them if I know not just what they look like, but who they are as people. What they like, how they feel, what their hang-ups are… those are all really important for me, even if I'm writing a short story. I have to intimately bond with my characters or they just feel flat and it's difficult to work with flat characters because they just kill the story.

Tonya:  Do you always include HEA and is that type of ending important to you?

Rachel:  Everyone comes away happy at the end. They have to or the experience is lost. On the other hand, my definition of happy may be completely different than someone else's.

Tonya:  Where can our readers find you and your books?

Rachel:  I'm on Twitterand Facebook

And you can find my books on

Tonya:  Is there anything else you want to tell our readers?

Rachel:  Thank you for having me on your blog today, Tonya! It's been a lot of fun, and I look forward to getting to know your readers. As a thank you, I'd like to give away the first two stories in my HorrorErotik series: To Fuck a Vampire and Vampire Porn Queen, which follow a city librarian on a sexual quest for real vampires and eternity in a world filled with goth-obsessed wannabes.

Excerpt:  Vampire Porn Queen

After they made her, Shayna came to sleep between her vampires, Sven nestled protectively at her naked back with a strong arm draped over her waist and Dylan stretched on his back in front of her, his hand nestled on the inside of her thigh. Touching, always touching… even as they slept the dead sleep, their bodies non-responsive and their consciousness someplace far away. Shayna didn't know where she went when she slept, only that it was nothing like actually sleeping. There were no dreams, no fitful mutterings, only darkness. Waking from that state wasn't slow, but sudden, as if while her eyes were closed her spirit fled to play on the astral playground. As soon as it returned to her body, her eyes popped open and she was alive again.
Well, as alive as a dead girl could be. And she was alive. More alive than she'd ever felt in her twenty-four years, and she had Sven and Dylan to thank for that. In the last few weeks since she'd met them and become a permanent fixture in their eternity they had both shown her things, incredible things she might never have known without them. Being with them was everything she'd dreamed of in her old life; being one of them was even better than she'd dreamed.
In the half-light of the dim room, she stretched out her fingers and found Dylan's cock. It sprang to life in her hand when she fondled and he shifted against the sheets with a soft moan as she gently squeezed and stroked slowly upward. Her thumb fluttered across the swollen head, evoking a second, much longer keen of delight before he rolled onto his side to face her and opened his dark eyes.
He swept in closer, pressing his cheek against hers in a playful snuggle. "There was no life before you," he muttered against her half-open mouth before crushing his lips down on hers in a dominating kiss. Dylan liked to be in control, but his longing to lord over her was often tempered with a gentleness that would have made her heart flutter were it still actually beating. His hand drew up to rest against her face, holding her there as his tongue swept into her mouth and danced playfully with hers.
She relaxed into Dylan's kiss, increasing the force of her strokes as he became hard as granite in her hand. Lifting her leg to rest over his hip, his hand slid down her waist, along the curve of her hip and over her ass before the stretch of his fingers kneaded into the flesh of her thigh. He jerked her closer and she delighted in the urgent brush of his swollen head against her skin.
"I want you inside me." She whispered her plea just beyond his ear before sliding her tongue out to tickle and suck his earlobe. She nestled her cheek into his, his soft stubble brushing deliciously against her skin.
With unexpected force, Dylan pushed her onto her back, slid in between her legs and spread them wide with his knees. He hovered above her with a snarling grin, the malice in his eyes primal and raw. It stirred something animal inside her, and she lifted her hands to rest upon his shoulders, fingernails pushing painfully into his chest.
Tonya:  Readers - wow! Who wants some of that? Leave your comment for Rachel to choose a winner!
